KFUPM owns the skies.
Now we want to own everything.
We won first place at SUAS 2026 in the United States. In 2027 we're taking five entries to TEKNOFEST in Türkiye: rockets, autonomous aircraft, air defense and AI.
Our autonomy team took first place at the Student Unmanned Aerial Systems competition in the United States, organized by RoboNation. TEKNOFEST 2027 is the next step, with a bigger team.

Jet Engine Design Competition
PropulsionSubject to recruitmentThe competitions we enter are run by ROKETSAN, ASELSAN and BAYKAR, companies localizing production in the Kingdom with SAMI. Our students will be judged by engineers in the industries the Kingdom is developing.
Air defense, autonomous aircraft, rockets and jet engines are technologies Vision 2030 is bringing home. This program produces engineers who have designed, built and flown them.
Team formed
Entry teams, leads and deputies selected; competition specifications studied.
Engineering and design reviews
Applications and design reports submitted; designs reviewed before building.
Full-time summer build
Build, integrate and test, run as summer training.
